Pasha Turkish Restaurant
Tucked away on 43 Market Street in Barnsley, Pasha Turkish Restaurant brings a bold, flavour-packed taste of Anatolia straight to South Yorkshire. If you’re craving authentic Turkish food with all the charm of a family-run kitchen and the polish of professional service, this is one of those gems you’ll want to keep coming back to. From sizzling meats to rich desserts and well-curated wines, Pasha ticks every box for lunch, dinner, or a spontaneous solo bite.
Let’s talk about their Mixed Grill Platter-this dish alone feels like a culinary passport stamped with every iconic Turkish flavour. It’s a generous spread of lamb chops, chicken kebabs, and grilled vegetables served on a bed of fluffy rice or warm flatbread. The lamb chops come perfectly charred yet tender, seasoned with a blend of herbs that hint at Pasha’s deeper roots in traditional Ottoman cuisine. If you're visiting with friends or family, this platter is the go-to sharing option that satisfies every palate at the table.
Now, for those who prefer going solo with their meat dishes, the Chicken Beyti stands out with its garlicky punch and soft lavash wrap-often paired with yoghurt and tomato sauce that lifts the entire plate. Vegetarians aren’t left out either. The Vegetarian Moussaka here is layered with soft aubergines, potatoes, and béchamel in a way that could rival any meat-based version. Add a side of Garlic Mushrooms or Greek Salad and you’ve got a balanced, satisfying meal without a hint of compromise.
Dessert? You absolutely don’t want to skip it. Their Baklava is a local favourite-crispy, syrupy, and nutty in all the right proportions. But if you're after something more decadent, the Chocolate Cake is rich, moist, and unapologetically indulgent. Pair that with a strong, aromatic Turkish Coffee or even a warm cup from their curated tea selection, and you've got yourself a sweet finale.
What really rounds out the experience at Pasha Turkish Restaurant is the vibe-accessible, cozy, and refreshingly unpretentious. The restaurant is fully wheelchair-friendly, offering accessible parking, entrance, and seating, which makes it welcoming to all guests. Whether you’re dining in, picking up a takeaway, or opting for no-contact delivery, the service remains warm and attentive.
As for drinks, the list is more expansive than you might expect. You’ll find Rose Dune Nuit Chateau Heritage from Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, crisp and floral, making it the perfect companion to grilled meats. The restaurant also serves a good range of beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits, covering everything from a casual pint to a well-mixed mojito. Happy hour specials are an added bonus, offering both food and drinks at friendly prices.
Pasha also delivers for those with specific dietary preferences. There are halal options, vegetarian-friendly dishes, and healthy small plates designed for lighter bites or sharing. The Chili Nachos, Calamari, and Hot Starter Meatballs come highly recommended if you want to snack while sipping something chilled.
Whether you're popping in during a busy lunch break or settling in for a relaxing dinner, the steady stream of locals and newcomers alike is a testament to Pasha’s consistency and crowd-pleasing approach. If you're in Barnsley and searching for a place that brings together vibrant flavours, friendly faces, and a seriously good menu, Pasha Turkish Restaurant deserves a top spot on your list.

First time visiting Pasha, and we will definitely go again. We had the set meal for 2 people for £50. Great value and really tasty, dips were delicious, salad fresh and good quality. The grilled meat selection was amazing, and there was plenty of it. Efes on draft was nice as it's usually bottles only in restaurants. Lovely atmosphere, nice and clean, and the service was pleasant and attentive :)
